Jessica Baker is a passionate and driven gymnastics coach. She was the head coach and team coach at a local gym for 5 years before she ventured out and became a gym owner herself. She was also the head coach for the local Burroughs high school team for the 2016 school year. The girls did really well and placed second at state with 4 of the girls being named to the CIF Team. Jessica grew up in the sport of gymnastics and was a gymnast for almost 14 years. She has been coaching gymnastics for the past 15 years. Her passion is to help teach and inspire young children to live a happy, positive, and healthy life style, and instill the values of hard work, team work, dedication, and good sportsmanship. Prior to coaching gymnastics Jessica studied nursing at Kaplan college earning her certification as a medical assistant and a unit clerk. She has worked in the bookkeeping service off and on for the better part of 13 years. Her favorite events to do in gymnastics were Floor Exercise and Vault. She has the following certifications through USAG: USAG University Instructor, Junior Olympic Development Coach, Safety & Risk Management, Fundamentals of Gymnastics Instruction , First Aid Basics , Development Coaches Course:Sport Science , 2016/2017 National Congress, Development Coaches Course: Hands on Training. She has the following other certifications: CPR, First Aid, Mandated Reporter: Child Abuse and Neglect and Concussion Awareness in Athletics
Pam Grattan started her career in gymnastics back in the late 70’s in high school and did some gymnastics in college. She started coaching tiny tots while she was still in high school at a local gym club for 2 years. During her senior year of high school she attended Merced Junior College taking courses in Medical Assisting with the intent of heading off to medical school. She started working in the medical field right after high school graduation and attending college full time taking pre-med courses with a minor in math. She became an EMT 1 and taught advanced first aid and CPR classes as a volunteer with her local Red Cross. Pam married and had children just short of finishing college. Some twenty years later she returned to college but changed her course of study to business and graduated Cerro Coso with a dual major in Business Administration and Office Technologies. Pam has 15 years of business banking experience where she worked her way from a teller to AVP Branch Administrator. After banking she spent 7 years working at a local law office where she became a paralegal. Pam has spent the past 13 years working for a local entrepreneur as a key member of his multi businesses. She is the office manager of his Ashley Furniture HomeStore in charge of the IT, HR, AP/AR, and customer service departments. She also runs his other businesses managing his legal, HR, IT, property management, payroll, and bookkeeping departments for the various companies. While her children were young and still in school, Pam coached gymnastics for the City of Ridgecrest. She spent 8 years coaching while her daughter Jessica was a gymnast in the club. She has always dreamed of owning her own gym and is now taking the steps to make this dream come true with her daughter by her side. She has the following certifications through USAG: Fundamentals of Gymnastics Instruction, Safety and Risk Management, USA Gymnastics Fitness, Business Foundations 1, 2 and 3 and her Instructor certification. She has the following other certifications: CPR and First Aid.
Kim is from Ridgecrest California where she grew up participating in multiple sports. She went to college at the Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology in Denver Colorado where she received a degree in Applied Animal Sciences and Technology. After returning to her hometown, she began working with the youth through Crossroads Community Church and eventually began coaching artistic gymnastics and has been for the last 10 years. She has worked with recreational level 1 to competitive team level 8. Along with coaching, she has designed and run conditioning programs for competitive gymnastics for the last 7 years. Kim holds a certification in personal training from the National Academy of Sports Medicine and specialties in fitness nutrition and youth excercise. She has the following other certifications: CPR, First Aid, AED, NASM-CPT (Certified Personal Trainer), FNS (Fitness Nutrition Specialist), YES (Youth Exercise Specialist), CES (Corrective Conditioning Specialist).
